Amy Winehouse Appears At Mercury Music Prize & Performs ‘Love Is A Losing Game’
Amy Winehouse has made a surprise and wholly unexpected appearance at the Mercury Music Prize ceremony tonight. Not only did she show up looking sober and healthy, she also performed on stage.
Speculation was rife before and during the ceremony as to whether she’d make it to the awards or not after her recent ongoing drugs problems.
She has had a bloody argument with her hubby, and been photographed on holiday.
Even the event organisers did not know if Winehouse would play or appear until earlier this evening. However the singer proved all of her critics wrong, and arrived at the Grosvenor House Hotel at 17.00 BST and sound checked.
Awards presenter Jools Holland introduced Winehouse, and she took the stage at 19:55 wearing a yellow dress. She sang ‘Love Is A Losing Game’ backed by just an acoustic guitar.
After performing she said “Thank you“, and then stepped down from the stage to join husband Blake Fielder-Civil and her family at her table.
The winner of this year’s Mercury Music Prize will be announced just after 10pm BST and I will have a full report of the event on Brit Music Scene tomorrow.

It was a while in coming but finally yes, good news.
It seemed weeks went by when she was on the front pages for all the wrong reasons.

If she was Amy Winehouse… a nobody, homeless street Addict then noone on the face of this earth would care if she banged H 10 times a day. I would guess that she wishes it was still a secret! Good Luck Amy!!!… with whatever YOU decide to do! I judge noone!
