Amy Winehouse Enters Rehab - Boss Used Shock Tactics, Husband Threatened Divorce
Amy Winehouse has finally entered rehab, voluntarily checking herself in to hopefully get rid of the need to use copious amounts of drugs and drink she seems to need to cope with life.
Her out of control drug abuse finally reached a climax after The Sun obtained a video of her smoking from a crack pipe and plastered it all over the Internet for all to see.
Her record company released the following statement:
“She has come to understand that she requires specialist treatment to continue her ongoing recovery from drug addiction and prepare for her planned appearance at the Grammy awards/ Amy entered the facility by mutual agreement and continues to receive the full support of all concerned.”
“Amy is the most talented and important musical artist of her generation and has made huge strides on her road to recovery. The label has always had the best interests of Amy at heart and has been guided by her family and doctors in the last few months as to the best direction to take.”
It does seem to have taken some quite drastic measures to finally persuade her to go through with it however.
Firstly one of her bosses at Universal compiled a huge mass of press clippings showing what a train wreck she has become. A source told The Sun:
“Lucian Grange got his international marketing manager to find and copy every piece of press from around the world. It took the guy two days.”
“Lucian then laid everything out in his huge office and summoned Amy. He told her to have a good look, then tell him she hasn’t got a problem with drugs. It did the trick.”
Then, her hubby Blake Fielder-Civil reportedly threatened to divorce her if she didn’t check in to rehab.
He told the News of the World:
“I’m so relieved she has finally taken my advice after I begged her to go into rehab. I even threatened her with divorce because I thought it would be the only thing to make her see sense.”
“I want Amy to grab this opportunity in rehab so we can have a marriage and future together. Because the way she’s going I really fear I will come out of prison to no wife. I dread my cell door being opened and the chaplain informing me, ‘Amy’s dead.’ I have that nightmare three or four times a week.”
The shock factor exhibited by her husband and record company obviously worked in getting her to walk through the door, but let’s hope she manages to stay in there this time.
She entered rehab after almost dying from a drugs overdose last year, but left prematurely and promptly went back to being a junkie.
