Amy Winehouse Tells Pete Doherty All His Songs Are “Shit” - Duet May Not Happen

Pete Doherty was released early from his prison sentence involving drugs on May 6th, and immediately revealed plans to record a duet with fellow druggie and supposed new best friend Amy Winehouse.
However, the plans haven’t exactly gone to plan.
While they’re still on to duet together at Doherty’s rescheduled Royal Albert Hall gig, plans for a new song from the pair have reportedly hit a problem, namely that Winehouse isn’t happy with any of the material Doherty has come up with for the pair to sing.
The pair are said to have been inseparable since his release from prison with Winehouse taking her guitar to the Jazz After Dark venue in Soho in preparation for an impromptu jam session.
A source told The Daily Mirror that she called all of his songs “shit”.
“Amy has thrown back every song Pete has written for her. She keeps telling him it’s rubbish - and worse - and she’ll only perform if the song is great.”
“When she’s in the studio she can be ruthless and doesn’t care about hurting people. Pete’s really struggling to get it together. It hasn’t clicked yet.”
That’s the thing, despite all the similarities Pete Doherty and Amy Winehouse share - drugs and drink problems, high profile relationships gone wrong, in trouble with the law - the big difference is that Winehouse is a musical genius while Doherty isn’t.
I do hope this duet comes off as it should be a gem of a song, but I’m thinking maybe Winehouse should be doing the writing, and leaving Doherty to make the tea, or meet the local dealer.

Actually, maybe that’s the flaw in the report Dave - if Amy’s as ruthless in the studio as they claim, why is she leaving the songwriting to Doherty? She’s the biggest star, and has respected songwriting talents, yet she’s relying on Doherty here and was relying heavily on Mark Ronson for the Bond theme.
Maybe she’s going throught a dry spell?
