Annie Lennox New Solo Album Details | Plus The Video For New Single ‘Dark Road’

by Dave Parrack on August 22nd, 2007

Annie Lennox is preparing to release her fourth solo album ‘Songs Of Mass Destruction’ which is due for worldwide release on October 1st. Lennox, now 53 but looking like someone in their early 40s, is best known for being lead singer in the band Eurythmics with Dave Stewart, but has had some solo career success too.

The first single to be taken from the new album will be ‘Dark Road’, and the video is now up on YouTube. Here it is on Brit Music Scene for your enjoyment…

I’ve never been the biggest fan of Annie Lennox or Eurythmics, but I do really like this song. It’s soulful, and catchy with heartfelt lyrics. If this is the direction of the new album, then I can see it being a cracker of a pop record, and selling very well. The single will be released on 24th September.

Another song from the album has also been leaked, and this one sounds rather good too. ‘Sing’ features Annie Lennox and a host of other guest singers.

Bear with me as the list is quite long… Dido, Céline Dion, Melissa Etheridge, Fergie, Beth Gibbons, Faith Hill, Angelique Kidjo, Beverley Knight, Gladys Knight, KD Lang, Madonna, Sarah McLachlan, Beth Orton, Pink, Bonnie Raitt, Shakira, Shingai Shoniwa, Joss Stone, Sugababes, KT Tunstall, and Martha Wainwright. Phew, how do they all fit on a 3 minute song I wonder?

It seems the cream of both British and American female singers is lining up behind our own Ms Lennox, how can she possibly fail?
