Boyzone Announce Reunion Shows - No One Cares - Just Give Up Now… I Beg You!
Back in November of last year, Boyzone announced they were getting back together, and I wrote a post titled ‘Boyzone Announce Reunion - Noooooooooooooooooo!’ to show the level of my displeasure at the thought.
At the time, the reunion was just a one-off for Children In Need, but unfortunately, the 30-somethings from Ireland who still insist on calling themselves “boys” have now announced a summer tour around the UK. Great, I’m ecstatic at the thought.
According to NME, the frightening fivesome of Ronan Keating, Shane Lynch, Mikey Graham, Stephen Gately and Keith Duffy will be playing:
Broadlands House (July 5)
Bath The Rec (6)
Castle Howard (12)
Edinburgh Castle (18)
Blickling Hall (20)
Powderham Castle (25)
Faenol Festival (August 22)
I must attend all of those, as the chance to see Boyzone strutting their stuff 8 years after they split up makes me pee my pants. Yeah, seriously, it does. Honest.
I know Take That made a successful comeback, and have gone on to record new material which is probably better than what they produced the first time around, but there was a demand there. No-one I know wanted Boyzone to make a comeback, so why bother?
I expect more concerts to be added to the line-up, and then removed again when no-one actually buys any tickets. Then for Ronan to upset the rest of the group by doing that stupid voice that he does, and for them to split up all over again. Actually, this should be fun!
