Hi all, and welcome to ‘Brit Music Scene‘. This brand new blog on the b5 media network’s music channel is hopefully going to become your first stop shop for everything about the British music scene. I’m hoping this will become NME without the musical snobbery.
I’m Dave Parrack (otherwise known as DaveP), and I’ll be your guide through the wonderful maze of talent and tunes that is British music. That’s me on the right there… sort of. A little about me before we start. I am a long time blogger and even longer time British music lover. As well as here, I currently write at Pop Buzz UK, where you can delve in to other aspects of British pop culture apart from music. I also write at Web TV Hub, highlighting the best and worst of YouTube, and Web TV Wire on all things Internet TV.
On Brit Music Scene, we’ll be covering the past, present and future of the UK scene, with retro reviews, current music news, and the upcoming bands to look out for. Some of the stupidly expansive stuff we’ll be delving in to include single, album and gig reviews, charts, interviews, top tens, playlists and TV appearances. Phew, I’m going to be busy, but I’m looking forward to it.
As well as being an ultra useful and entertaining blog, this will hopefully be a place for you, the readers to have your say and voice your opinion. I welcome comments, and always reply. You can also feel free to ask me any questions about British music, past or present and I’ll do my best to provide you with the details. Have a band you think I should hear about? Then let me know, and I’ll maybe feature them. If they’re crap of course, you could get a bad review, but you have to take that chance.
I’m hoping to tempt and build a readership from the UK, America, Europe, Asia and beyond. Music is an art form which transcends borders, and my job is to bring everything about British music direct to your doorstep, or monitor at least. Read, take part, comment, get involved, and most importantly enjoy the ride!
