This time last week, Jay-Z was about to take to the main stage at Glastonbury to finally perform the gig which had caused a mass of hysterical controversy over the past few months.
In the run-up to the gig, I took a long, hard look at the controversy over the booking of Jay-Z as a […]

We already knew that Amy Winehouse and Pete Doherty were new best friends, and have been spending bags of time with each other, although it was reported that attempts for the pair to record a duet had gone slightly wrong of late. However, two videos were uploaded to YouTube by Doherty over the weekend which […]

At last week’s Brit Awards, one of the many highlights was the collaboration between Rihanna and Klaxons.
The two artists, whose styles vary wildly, made a mashup of Umbrella and Golden Skans work as if the songs had been written in unison, and were always meant to go together.
Now, Rihanna has expressed an interest in […]

Sony/ATV Music Publishing has opened up The Beatles back catalogue, making 259 songs available to advertisers for use in commercials.
Although open for commercial licensing, the tracks will however, have to be re-recorded by other artists, rather than the Beatles originals used in adverts.
This is the first time that Beatles songs have been available for […]

Coldplay have placed a cover of The Pretenders Christmas song 2000 Miles on their official website.
It was actually recorded in 2003, and you can hear the amateur, untrained nature of Chris Martin’s voice coming through very well.
The reason the band give for posting this cover?

Barbie Girl has never been a good song, be it the original by Swedish cheesemeisters Aqua, or any of the covers and spoof versions. I’ll admit to singing it on Singstar occasionally when I’m cajoled and blackmailed by friends, but that’s it.
So whoever decided that the God awful tune was ripe for a re-release deserves […]

I’m kind of in love with Lily Allen. Not as much as Kate Nash, but still quite a lot, in a non-stalky threatening way. I think it may be her third nipple, or maybe just the fact that she’s a kick ass British singer with a great voice and attitude to boot.
She recently covered ‘Don’t […]

You’ve probably already seen this advert for Cadburys Dairy Milk chocolate, either on television in the UK, or via the multitude of emails flying around with it attached.
It shows a giant gorilla sitting at a drum kit listening intently to the start of Phil Collins hit ‘In The Air Tonight’. And then when the […]

Noooo, say it ain’t so… The pink, annoying twins who almost (but not quite) won Big Brother 8 UK have signed a record deal.
So how much are two untalented nobodies worth you reckon? £10k? £100k? No, apparently they’ve been signed for £1,000,000. Yes, that’s a million squid to you and me, an amount most […]
