Geri Halliwell Claims The Spice Girls Won’t Make A Profit From Their World Tour
The Spice Girls are currently on a huge world tour, which they have spectacularly managed to sell out everywhere.
But despite the hundreds of thousands of people paying a fortune to see the reformed girl group, if you believe Geri Halliwell’s latest claim, the girls won’t make a penny from it.
The widespread belief up to now has been that the girls were offered, and accepted, millions of pounds each to get back together and embark on one last tour as a fivesome.
It’s no surprise that the girls haven’t always got on that well, so I would imagine any less than a million, and they’d have all stayed in bed instead.
But maybe not. Geri has now come out and explained:
“The truth of the matter is, to put on this tour has cost $37 million (£18.6 million). We have done this purely to celebrate our fans, the music and ourselves.”
“This is not a money-making expedition. It really isn’t. Hopefully we will break even but it’s never been about that. If we take home a pay cheque that’s fantastic, but this is about party and celebration.”
Pull the other one Geri, as no-one is going to believe that pile of horse shit in a million years. I’m sure the tour has cost an absolute fortune to stage, but to make out you’re going to end up having doen it for nothing is ludicrous.
It’s not like any of the girls were exactly starving on the breadline, and Victoria in particular would never have to work again in her life, so why would she bother?
