KT Tunstall Swears Never To Do Drugs | Put Off After Seeing Amy Winehouse Pictures
Amy Winehouse may be about to do something good for a change, as it seems the state she has been getting in from drug and alcohol abuse has started to put other artists off from going down the same road.
KT Tunstall, the Scottish pop songstress has now come out and stated categorically that she will never touch drugs after seeing the effect it has had on Winehouse.
She states that seeing photos of the MOBO award winner for Best Female on various drug binges over the last few months has put her off ever trying Class A drugs.
KT said:
“Amy Winehouse is immensely talented and all I read is how much she drinks and who she’s married to.”
“I’m sure lots of people would love to see me on coke coming out of a club. But there’s way too much at stake to muck it up just because I would get better known for being an idiot than for being a musician.”
Strong words indeed but she’s completely right. There seems to be a very obvious trend between music and drugs, and the amount of musicians who end up getting addicted to some sort of substance is seemingly never ending.
If the train wrecks of Amy Winehouse and Pete Doherty even put one talented person off getting screwed up every weekend on crack then their misfortunes may benefit music as a whole.
I doubt that KT’s vow of abstinence stretches to alcohol though… she is Scottish after all!

I’m so bored hearing about what a artist may or may not be doing outside of thier given talent. How did we ever become such a ‘busy body’ society in the first place? We spend too much time and energy focusing on rumours and the lives of other folk and not nearly as much time bettering our own little world around us. People keep your eye on the ball !
