Led Zeppelin Full UK Tour Won’t Be Happening - Robert Plant Reveals Bad News

by Dave Parrack on September 29th, 2007

Robert Plant InterviewRobert Plant has dashed the hopes of everyone who failed to get a ticket for the one off Led Zeppelin reunion concert in November by stating there will be no full tour forthcoming.

The Led Zeppelin frontman told the Daily Express:

“We need to do one last great show, because we’ve done some shows, and they’ve been crap.”

“I know I’m getting on, when I come back from touring I’m shocked to find a lot of my mates tend to be going to bed far too early, and that means I should probably be doing the same. Maybe I should stop having a good time and get old.”

This news is a real shame and I actually can’t see the logic in it. Purely going on the amount of people who applied for tickets to the one off 02 Arena gig on November 26th (Over a million) it’s easy to see that Led Zeppelin would have no trouble selling out a World tour let alone a UK Arena tour.

I suppose the problem is that they hardly need the money do they. Led Zeppelin may have been tempted out of retirement to support The Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund but there just isn’t the temptation there for them to go out on the road and slog their guts out, no matter how many people would give their right arm for a ticket.

I HAD A TICKET TO THAT CONCERT,BUT I DID’T HAVE A PASSPORT BACK TO ENGLAND. NO I AM NOT RELATED TO ROBERT PLANT,JUST BECAUSE OUR LAST NAME IS THE SAME, DOESN’T MEAN WE ARE RELATED. DAMN! I WISH I COULD HAVE WENT TO THAT CONCERT, I’LL JUST HAVE TO CATCH HIM WITH ALISON KRAUSS.

Unfortunately, I was born too late to see Led Zeppelin live and was 5 when the late, great John Bonham, passed away. I have always loved LZ’s music and I always will. I one of millions of my time that hoped and will hope for a chance to see LZ rise again. Even if it is for one final world tour. And to see Jason Bonham take his father’s role in the Greatest and most influential Band in music history (in my opinion) would definitely be a sight to see. If they did tour and come to the US, there would be no stopping me from seeing them at least once.
