Led Zeppelin Reunion Ticket Ballot Closes
Did you get on the site? Have you registered for the chance for a ticket to the one off Led Zeppelin gig? If you have you are not alone, as up to noon today when the ticket ballot closed, over 1 million people had registered on the site. Oh mama.
The ballot was due to close on Monday afternoon but was extended until today to give as many fans as possible the chance to grab tickets. Event promoter Harvey Goldsmith said:-
We are absolutely overwhelmed with the number of hits received,”
“In the first day alone, we received an unprecedented number of hits that literally knocked the website out. Over the last seven days we have recorded over 1,000 million hits. This response is amazing and from it we have had over one million registrations. We would like to thank all the fans for their support and we hope that all those fortunate to be successful will keep the tickets out of the hands of touts.”
So if you are sitting there with your confirmation email in your inbox you currently stand a 1 in 50 chance of having your name drawn out and being able to get your hands on 2 tickets for the gig. You just have 2 weeks to wait to find out if you’re one of the lucky ones, as the draw will take place on October 1st.
If you are one of the lucky few you’ll then have to spend £250 on your 2 tickets for the charity gig at London’s 02 Arena on November 26th.

As well as Led Zeppelin, Pete Townshend, Foreigner, Paolo Nutini, and Bill Wyman And The Rhythm Kings will all be playing. There are also rumours that Mick Jagger will perform on the night, which after the announcement of The Rolling Stones retiring from performing live could be your last chance to see him play.
I didn’t bother registering for tickets, as my luck isn’t that good. Plus even if I had managed to beat the huge odds and get some tickets, £125 per ticket is beyond me, I am but a poor blogger after all!
Let me know if you got on the site and are in with a shout. I’d love to hear from people who get tickets, and come November find out whether the concert is as good as it should be. And if any of you sell them on eBay… shame on you!

I was at Knebworth to see their last gig in ther UK in ‘79 and I am desperate to see their next one, they are just the best band on the planet. But knowing my luck I won’t get through the draw and there’s no way I can afford to pay the likely £500 for a ticket from another source.

I resitered and know that I will be one of the lucky ones. It will be a present for my OLD husband who will be turning 50 at the end of November. I will fly all the way from sunny California to make the concert. I may have to sell everything to make the trip but I will have a concert worth the money. The piper is calling me!

[…] Over a million people put their name down on the website, and now the lucky few have been chosen. Remember that the venue only holds 20,000 people so it was a 1 in 50 chance to get hold of a ticket. […]

No, I didn’t get one, nor an email telling me that I haven’t got one. :-(
All that we millions that were unsuccessful in the draw can hope is that the concert is so good that it inspires them go back on the road for one last tour………… ;-)

I’ve got a ticket !! I am so excited and feel like I will be a part of rock history!! I am traveling from Massachusetts and have already booked my flight and hotel. This is the craziest thing I have ever done, but I know it will be worth it. I am usually a sensible person, I can hang out near the deep end and not jump in, but when it comes to Zeppelin I drop into “The Ocean” from a helicopter !!!
I know that all of our fellow Zep fans will be watching and waiting on Nov 26, I would be. I hope they televise it or have a DVD made afterwards.
