Led Zeppelin Triumph At Reunion Concert
No, I wasn’t there… unfortunately, but I’ve read all I can on the fans and critics reviews, and need to give my report on how the much anticipated reunion concert went.
It’s London, it’s December 10th 2007, and it’s freezing cold, but no-one cares because the remaining members of Led Zeppelin are about to take to the stage.
It’s a dream come true for the thousands of fans who beat the odds and secured one of the hard fought tickets for the one off gig.
A Led Zeppelin reunion was once said to be less likely than a Beatles one, and that was after John Lennon had been killed, but fortunately for the 16,000 odd people present at the 02 Arena, it has happened.
I would have loved to have been there, but through a combination of very low odds, thought to be about 125/1, and a lack of money, I had no chance. Unless the band decide they liked performing together again enough that a permanent reunion is a good idea, it’s something I’ll always regret.
So how was it? Absolutely brilliant, at least according to all of the reviews I’ve read in the last 48 hours.
Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and Jason Bonham (John’s son) came out to a rapturous welcome, and blew the crowd away as they played through a good portion of the Led Zeppelin back catalogue.

They kicked off the set with Good Times Bad Times, before plying their way through classics such as Stairway To Heaven, Kashmir, and Black Dog.
I have actually seen footage of a lot of the songs live from the gig, thanks to YouTube, but unfortunately, the video sharing site is removing the video phone taken footage just as soon as it is uploaded.
If they rescind this decision, and start leaving some up for more than a day, I’ll make sure to share it with you all, but for now, just go the YouTube and type in Led Zeppelin reunion!
It seems like the band have lost nothing of the skills, and showmanship that has made them one of the most revered rock groups in history. Jason Bonham is also said to have done an outstanding job, working out his own style, rather than blandly copying his late father’s.
All we need now is for Led Zeppelin to announce that full tour that almost everyone wants them to. If they do, I’ll do whatever I can to get tickets… I won’t make the same mistake twice.
