Lily Allen Suffers Miscarriage - Loses Baby She Was Expecting With Ed Simons
Damn, I hate giving bad news, but seeing as I covered the announcement that Lily Allen was pregnant back in December, I feel I need to follow up on the story.
Unfortunately, it was announced today that Lily has suffered a miscarriage, and lost the baby. The British singer, and her boyfriend Ed Simons, he of dance giants Chemical Brothers, are said to be devastated.
When the couple announced the pregnancy, they asked for privacy, and I think the media did manage to give them that. Unfortunately, now that they have lost the baby, everyone, including me, is reporting the story, and probably stepping over a line of privacy at the worst time possible.
A spokesperson for Allen said:
“We can confirm that Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage. She and her partner Ed Simons will be making no further comment and we ask that their privacy be respected during this difficult time.”
Allen, 22, and Simons, 37, had just returned from a holiday in the Maldives when she suffered the miscarriage. After the sad news was announced, the couple were inundated with messages of support and condolence on their respective sites MySpace pages, and fan message boards.
I really hope Lily can bounce back from this quickly, as 2008 promises to be a busy year for her. As well as recording a second album, and hoping to repeat the success of Alright Still, she has a BBC chat show in the works for airing later his year.

You’ll rarely see this softer side of me, but My deepest sympathies go out to her and Ed. All I can say that is to try again. Obviously something wasn;t right this time around and this was her bodies way of fixing a problem before it gets too far. My wife miscarried ears ago and it’s not easy for anyone to deal with this. I hope the best for her.
