Metallica London 02 Arena Concert Just £5 Per Ticket… If You’re A Fan Club Member

Metallica are one of those bands I have never seen live. They were just too damn famous by the time I got in to them so that tickets for their concerts always sell out quickly, and are always very pricey. What’s more, because they are American, we don’t get to see them as often as I’d like over here in the UK.
But all three of those issues could have been solved for me by the latest announcement from the metal band. They’re playing the London 02 Arena, tickets will be priced at just £5, and with tickets only being available to fan club members or people registered on the official album site, I won’t have to face quite so much competition for a place.
Metallica are playing at the 02 Arena in Berlin on September 12th, and the London 02 Arena on September 15th, both as a publicity effort for new album Death Magnetic which is released worldwide on the day of the Berlin concert.
The official Metallica site cites the reason for the ultra-low ticket prices as being retro as a kind of celebration. All proceeds from the shows will be donated to local charities.
Further details about the shows and how to obtain tickets are due to be released soon, but for now we know the locations and the pricing. Tickets will have to be picked up on the day of the concert from the box office, and are limited to two per member.
I know this is purely for publicity but who cares, it’s a great gesture and may finally allow me to go and see a band I’ve loved for the last few years. Knowing my luck though, it’ll end up being a lottery to see who can have tickets, and I never win anything.
