Mick Jagger Was Targeted By Hells Angels

A BBC documentary has claimed that Mick Jagger, lead singer of The Rolling Stones, was targeted by the Hells Angels, who allegedly planned an assassination attempt on him.

The Radio 4 documentary, which is part of ‘The FBI at 100‘ series, sees former FBI agent Mark Young reveal the plot to get the ultimate revenge on the big lipped front man after he fired the motorcycle gang’s security forces from taking care of any more of the band’s gigs.

This came after an 18 year old fan was stabbed to death at a free concert in Altamont, California during December 1969.

The gang then decided to target him at his holiday home on New York’s Long Island, approaching by boat.

Young claims:

“The Hells Angels were so angered by Jagger’s treatment of them that they decided to kill him,”

“Their plan involved making entry into his Long Island property, going by boat. As they gathered the weaponry and their forces to go out on Long Island Sound, a storm rolled up, which nearly sunk the watercraft they were in, and they escaped with their own lives.”

“They all survived but made no other attempt on his life.”

The plot only came to the FBI’s attention much later, in the course of a wider investigation into the Angels’ activities.

His publicists are yet to respond to the story, and it is unknown whether Mick Jagger knew anything about the plot until now. The Hells Angels meanwhile, have denied any connection with the Altamont killing.

The episode in which the story is recounted is set to be aired next Monday, February 10th.
