Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell | The Start Of A Good Thing Or Another Mistake?

by Dave Parrack on May 26th, 2008

Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell

Paul McCartney’s relationship problems have been rather well publicised over the last few years, with Heather Mills nabbing the multi-millionaire and managing to wheedle her way to a proportion of his hard-earned fortune in a long-running and acrimonious divorce battle.

You’d imagine that little experience would have put McCartney off women for a while but no chance, as he’s already embarking on another dalliance with the opposite sex, this time with US socialite Nancy Shevell.

But any thoughts that this was just a fling or friendship seem to be dashed after he apparently declared his love for her last week.

According to the Mirror On Sunday, a friend of the former Beatle said:

“Paul is telling everyone she is definitely his girlfriend.”

“He loves that Nancy has class, her own money and independence - much like Linda. He also has a deep understanding of women like Nancy who have had tragedy in their lives. But after Heather, he has no plans to ever get married again.”

The tragedy alluded to is the recent death of Shevell’s brother Jon Lawrence. It seems that McCartney has been helping her cope with the loss, and with the age difference, McCartney is 65 while Shevell is just 47, maybe McCartney is a bit of a father figure?

Whatever the case, I hope this one turns out a bit better than the last one, but I really hope he sticks to his guns and doesn’t get married again, as I don’t think I could stand the press coverage if yet another coupling came to an end.
