Robert Plant Leaves Door Open For Further Led Zeppelin Shows - More One-Offs?
Ever since legendary British rock pioneers Led Zeppelin reformed for a one-off gig at the 02 Arena in London last December, there has been speculation over further plans for a full tour.
Firstly guitarist Jimmy Page gave the fans who had missed out on the London show hope (and there were many, including me), hope by stating that a world tour was certainly possible.
Unfortunately, at the beginning of this month, lead singer Robert Plant seemed to put paid to anything happening in the near future by reportedly turning down £100 million to take part in one last big tour.
Even though the rest of the surviving members of the band, along with drummer Jason Bonham were said to be keen, Plant wanted to concentrate on other projects, particularly his current collaboration with Allison Krauss.
Now though, there’s another twist to the seemingly everlasting saga, as Plant has hinted at the possibility of at least one more Led Zeppelin reunion gig.
He tells this month’s edition of Uncut magazine:
“Hopefully, one day, we could do it again for another really, really good reason, because there’s unfinished business, definitely.”
“I don’t think there’s any need for it to be finished. As long as he’s [guitarist Jimmy Page] got a bit of creative electricity going through his nut, then there’s going to be something to do sometime.”
“It’s just in what form and how much of a compromise it would be to the real root of what we had as Zeppelin. Everybody wants to have some fun.”
While this is in no way an official announcement, it does at least give everyone the hope back that we haven’t quite seen the last of Led Zeppelin performing live.
While I’d rather they embarked on a full world tour, with a few shows here in the UK, so that I had more chance of securing a ticket, anything would be better than nothing, and a one-off show somewhere could be brilliant.

Hi, Dave,
Good news about Led Zep (maybe). I have some photos I took on stage at their performance at the Texas Pop Festival outside Dallas back in 1969. I’ll dig them out and send you a couple. I worked for Showco Sound, and they were one of our groups.

I would love to see them ago so I’m hoping Plant and the gang say yes…but maybe that’s wishful thinking
