Sex Pistols Reunite For One Off Concert In London | Latest British Band To Reform
I seem to have spent the 3 months I’ve been writing this blog talking mainly about 2 things; One is Amy Winehouse after her many drug and relationship problems, the other is the series of British bands who seem to be reforming lately.
First there were Britpop legends The Verve, then came Led Zeppelin, and Blur are due any day. But today the news is that The Sex Pistols are reforming for a one off gig in November to mark the 30 year anniversary of Never Mind The Bollocks.
Original members John Lydon, Paul Cook, Steve Jones and Glen Matlock will appear at the Brixton Academy on November 8. This isn’t the first time the punk icons will have reformed, having done a World tour in 1996, and also hooking up together for shows in 2002 and 2003.
Bassist Glen Matlock recently said:-
“Most bands who have any degree of success keep putting records out and tour and tour for 20 years.”
“We never did that, so when we came back to it, there’s a fantastic bunch of songs there, they mean a lot, to a lot of people, the songs almost don’t even belong to us, they belong to the kids, lots of people identify with it all around the world.”

Tickets for the London gig will go on sale this Friday, and with the venue only holding 3000 people, they are likely to be snapped up very quickly. Again, this is a band who I adore, and would love to see live. John Lydon is still an amazing personality and to see him strutting his stuff on stage would be a dream come true for me.
Let’s just hope the tickets are cheaper than the £125 Led Zeppelin are charging for their 02 Arena gig!

Hmm, I like the sex pistols but a reunion seems odd. Maybe some bands aren’t meant to reform? Maybe this is one. I can’t tell if I should be happy or not. I guess I just can’t imagine them now… playing live and what not. It’s very different from the other reunions going on. Maybe cause there obviously won’t be a Sid. Plus didn’t they reunite in 93, no wait 03 and that obviously did not work out.

i am 14 and a MASSIVE fan of the sex pistols. i love them! i think them having a reunion concert is great for those of us who are too young to have seen them when they were famous. it gives us an opportunity to see them perform although it wouldnt be the same without sid vicious.
