Sugababes Deny Press Speculation About Amelle Berrabah’s Future In The Band
The Sugababes have today publicly denounced press speculation concerning the future of band member Amelle Berrabah.
The Sun reported earlier this week that group members Keisha Buchanan and Heidi Range were secretly plotting to axe Amelle, the pop trio’s newest recruit.

Berrabah only joined the group in December 2005 as a replacement for outgoing original member Mutya Buena. This meant only Keisha Buchanan was left from the original line up. Siobhán Donaghy was in the band until 2001 before being replaced by Heidi Range.
The reason Amelle Berrabah was being reported as on the way out was that “she was persistently arriving late for recording sessions.”
Buchanan has now insisted that the group’s line-up will remain the same for the foreseeable future, saying: “Things couldn’t be better in the band at the moment. Amelle, Heidi and I are a rock solid team“.
Berrabah added: “I’m 110 per cent committed to Sugababes. It’s a dream come true. I can’t wait to perform the new album live.”
The Sugababes are gearing up for the release of new single ‘About You Now’ on September 24th. Their fifth studio album ‘Change’ will follow on October 8th.
If she does leave then serious questions will again be asked about the attitudes in the band. There’s been rumours of in fighting and cliquey behaviour between the various different band members for years.
Since Mutya left, she’s had some great solo success with ‘Song 4 Mutya (Out of Control)’ and the new ‘Just A Little Bit’ which comes out on September 17th.
